Excellent opportunity to join a unique company as an Assistant Buyer. The role will support the Buyer in range selection, assortment planning and supplier sourcing as well as managing a portfolio of product and suppliers. You will represent your category and the company by maintaining positive relationships with suppliers whilst negotiating terms and pricing.

The role will be part of a very busy category team and will expose you to a number of project opportunities as well as career development. You will have a proven track record of retail buying and ideally within a luxury / high end market.

Role:
*Support the Buyer, by managing a selection of vendors and negotiating preferential trading terms, freight/inco terms and returns agreements
*Attend all relevant Tradeshows and Supplier visits for your category
*Source and recommend all new suppliers relevant to your area
*Working with Vendors to set-up and agree all store incentives and promotional activity
*Liaising with the relevant Vendors to understand and run cluster analysis by store/brand
*Liaise closely with the Merchandising team on range performance and selection to gain a full understanding of product/supplier performance
*Fully understand the impact of all range decisions on Retained Margin % and Value for the business
*Manage a critical path of dates and schedules to ensure that new product launches are delivered
*Attend and present range reviews relevant to your area
*Support the Buyer with development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive promotional programme
*Maintain all pricing, product and promotional data etc held on our company systems
*Work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Visual Merchandising to ensure product sales, promotions are maximised

Candidate:
*Previous experience in a Buying Assistant / Assistant Buyer role in a retail environment is essential
*Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
*Adaptable attitude towards change, opportunities and project management as designated from time to time
*Excellent PC skills that include; Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
*Structured planning, organisation and time management skills
*A team player who relishes the opportunity of working within an entrepreneurial environment and delivering results against challenging targets
