*The delivery of solutions in alignment with architectural framework.
*To identify solution options, recommendations, costs, issues and risks to business stakeholders.
*To direct the governance activities and ensure enterprise solution design compliance.
*To coordinate solution implementation activities with delivery teams.
*To assist in the communication and improvement of the architecture process, its outcome and business benefit.
*The definition and maintenance of the reference and baseline architectures.
*The research, selection, implementation and maturing of innovative technologies and capabilities.
*To provide consultancy and collaboration with IT and business colleagues across the enterprise.
*To develop and maintain architecture diagrams and artefacts using specified standards and tooling.
*To represent the architecture practice and present the architecture viewpoint at key meetings.
*Peer reviewing of solutions and ideas with delivery teams, SMEs and other architects.
*The mentoring and guidance of junior team members.
*Delivery of solution options, decisions, RAID logs, artefacts and deliverables.
*Alignment with architectural direction, policy and standards.
*Aligning solution with corporate direction.
*Reducing complexity, duplication, technical risk and technical debt.
*Defining supportable and cost effective solutions.
*Assurance and design alignment of delivered solutions.
*Working with stakeholders, process owners, project managers, subject matter experts and delivery teams to seek feedback and improve the solution architecture process.
*Mentoring of team members to improve working standards and practices.
*Accountable for solution architecture approvals and escalation of approvals where required.
*Responsible for the creation of waivers where temporary sub optimal decisions may be required.
*Responsible for the creation of non-compliances where permanent sub optimal decisions may be required.
*Responsible for the definition of new building blocks (e.g. patterns, technologies or applications)
*Responsible for the creation and approval of reference architectures where enterprise level definitions are required to solve a business or technical problem.
*Responsible for the creation and maintenance of baseline architectures to reflect the current state and implemented changes to the architecture.
This excellent role comes with a salary to £55,000 p/a with 27 days holiday (rising to 32 after 5 years), annual salary review, competitive pension scheme, flexible working hours scheme, including up to two days per month flexi-leave, car-share scheme, cycle to work scheme (salary sacrifice) and a season ticket/bike loan to name but a few.
