A retained assignment, we were asked to replace an existing long-serving HR Director for a client we have historically worked closely with. We initially met with the CEO to scope a new remit for the HR Director role and what the key deliverables would be. Shaping the job profile together allowed us to input our market knowledge and history delivering at this level.

We spent significant time discussing what a ‘good’ candidate would look like for this client, what the existing culture of the business was and how an imminent acquisition would affect the culture. This made the recruitment process slightly more complex in that we were gauging what the expectations of the HR Director would be from the new parent company.

We designed a robust candidate attraction strategy based around formal search / headhunting, networking and carefully considered advertising. This meant we covered both ‘active’ and ‘passive’ candidate market. We spent time feeding back to the client the reality of the candidate experience and market perception of their organisation… helpful information for other roles they needed to fill.

We produced an excellent shortlist of candidates, centred on cultural fit and technical competence. The result was a successful placement at the first time of asking with an ambitious and dynamic HR Director who is delivering a great HR function to the business. Happy client and happy candidate!
